Today there are many different ways to help save the planet each and every day. People from all over the world have become a lot more conscious and are doing their part to conserve our Earth. One of the best ways to save energy is to make your own solar panels. You might think of this project as a relatively challenging one, but with this guide you will have exactly what you need to get a push off the ground!
You will need to decide if you want the panels up on your rooftop or in your front or backyard. If you do not eel comfortable climbing up and working on the roof for installation or even repairs, go for the yard option. Of course ensure that you know where the most sun is facing so that you can get the most out of your solar panels. Also, measure out the space that you have so that you know how many panels you can fit within your yard or on your roof. This simple task will save you a load of trouble in the long run.
You will need to have the right set of plans in order to properly get started with this project. Plans can usually be purchases as well as downloaded right from the internet. This helps to keep the costs down and will allow you to get what you need in a short amount of time. You might also want to think about buying a solar panel kit for your first project. These kits are comprised of just about everything that you need to safely put together a batch of solar panels. After that, you will have no issues doing them on your own with just a simple set of plans.
The material list is a vital part of the equation! If you do not have the materials needed then you cannot get started or even finish effectively. The fact of the matter is there are certain things that are needed in order to build the panels. Look over the materials list and see what you already have. Many items on the list are not very hard to find and will not break the bank either.
Building your battery box will be one of the most important steps when you are getting ready to make your own solar panels. If you do not make your box right, you could run into a world of issues along the way. Once the box has been built according to your plans, you will be ready to shop and install the battery. These batteries will be used to power the home at night or in the event of a power outage.
Get some help out there with you if you can. This is not usually a one person job and a couple of friends can easily step in. You might also want to find out if they have certain tools that you could use that you do not have. This will help you to save a lot more money and will get the job done even fast. A minimum of 2 people are needed for this type of job.
You now have what you need in order to find your plans or kit and get started. This is not a difficult process if you have the right help and the exact materials recommended. Follow the instructions and you should be all set to start helping the planet, one solar panel set at a time!
Find more information on the most effective alternative energy sources available now! You can begin saving money on your utility bills easy and fast when you start using a solar energy system in your home today!

Go Green In Your Home – And Save Money Too

The only way to keep up with the latest about going green is to constantly stay on the lookout for new information. If you read everything you find about going green, it won’t take long for you to become an influential authority.
How can you put a limit on learning ? The next section may contain that one little bit of wisdom that changes everything.
First place to go green is in your home, where you can also save a little money at the same time, it’s never been easier. As the planet faces an uncertain future over global warming, which is believed to be the result of us all burning fossil fuels indiscriminately, we all have a responsibility to do the best we can to redress the balance. Here are some great tips to help you get started…
Your home is where you spend a lot of your hard earned money, so it makes sense to be spending it as efficiently as possible. You can begin to go green in your home by insulating the house from top to bottom. Loft insulation, wall cavity insulation, double or even triple glazing – it will all make a tremendous difference. Yes, there is an investment to consider, but you will save in the long term, and them savings will come with your drastically reduced energy bills.
We all take water granted and use and waste far too much . Go green in the home by cutting back as much as you can. We could all, collectively, save one billion gallons of water a year by changing our old flush toilet cisterns. The old ones use three and a half gallons per flush and the new high-efficiency ones use just over one and a quarter gallon. If you did only this to go green in the home you would save 20,000 gallons of water every year, and pay a lot less in water bills.
The standard light bulbs that exist in most homes are very inefficient. Compact fluorescent light bulbs burn around 5% of the old bulbs and they last 10 times longer. They may cost slightly more to buy initially, but this is an obvious way to go green in the home and save a bundle in the long run. You could do even better, as the new LED lights are almost twice as efficient as even the compact fluorescent light bulbs, and they will last even longer too.
Heat escapes from house in winter and into the house in summer. Better insulation all round is a great way to go green in the home. Look at your loft, your wall cavities, your windows and your doors. Sort out all of these and you can go green in the home and really save too.
Home utilities are a drain on energy. Did you know that modern washing powders are so good that they don’t really need hot water? A normal domestic washing machine uses most of its energy heating the water, so try to wash lightly soiled clothes cold believe me there is no difference. They will clean great while you go green in the home. You may think your dishwasher is also an energy drain, strangely, it isn’t. If you use it fully filled it uses less resources than if you wash by hand. Once you know these little tips and tricks, it’s easy to go green in the home!
As your knowledge about go green continues to grow, you will begin to see how go green fits into the overall scheme of things. Knowing how something relates to the rest of the world is important too.

Find Out How Alternative Energy Sources Can Help You Enjoy A Sustainable Lifestyle At Home

Going green seems to have become the talk of the day in all forums including media. People have become consciousof the fact that we need to conserveour environment in order to continueenjoying the resources Mother Nature gives us. Manysteps have been suggested ranging from better waste disposal methods to energy preservation in our homes. By recycling most of the waste from our homes it means we reducethe amount that we throw away. This also means we demand less from our natural resources and that means health to our environment.
By farthe subject that has gotten the attention of our leaders today is the urgent call to find sustainable sources of energy to replace the depleted traditional unsustainable energy sources. Some of the suggestions that seem to top the list of viable clean energy sources include solar and wind generated power. These two sources are not new to us; in fact they have been used for several year in some parts of the world where traditional electricity from power companies is not available.
Solar panels have been and are still the leading source of electricity in most remote parts of Africa. However with the recent international sustainable energy campaigns from world leaders to make the world a better place to live, many countries are now investing money on solar energy systems to supplement other traditional sources of energy. Achieving clean energy starts from home and that is why solar power companies have embraced the technology to design solar panels and solar roofing panels that make residential homes self-sufficient in terms of energy. In other words one can build a house with inbuilt power system.
Wind turbines are spread over some parts of Europe and U.S. Unlike solar energy, wind generated power is limited to areas with sufficient wind. It is especially ideal for areas that are generallyflat with little or no vegetation. This mean it can be challenging to generate sufficient wind generated electricity if you live in an area protected by mountains or tall trees. However it is possible to generate wind power enough to power several homes from just one wind farm with several wind turbines.
With current technology, there is even a newer source of renewable energy suitable for residential homes. It is called Magnetic power generator. As the name implies, it is energy generated by use of magnetic forces. Magnetic power generator runs itself and in the process produces free power which can then be turned to electricity for home use. The beauty of this technology is the fact that once a magnetic power generator starts running it will run continuously since it does not rely on any external power. It is still new, but like solar and wind power sources, it will soon be one of the main sources of sustainable energy.

Some Alternatives To The Shocking Diesel Fuel Prices
November 24, 2009 by admin
Indeed, the world is faced by a spectrum of problems nowadays. The issue on recession has not yet died out but seems to be worsening even more. Add to it the fact that the cost of the basic commodities have also soared up. One of the shocking revelations that confront people, especially the car and truck owners is the increase in the diesel fuel prices. With the presence of all of the political and financial struggles all throughout the globe, this thing is another unwelcomed event.
However, no one can deny the fact that diesel fuel is very vital. It runs cars and industries. Simply put, the world is dependent on it. No one can just do without it. It seems though that no one is in control of its escalating price. The market is filled with uncertainties so the price of fuel changes every now and then. Therefore, the people are in search of ways on how to fight off the deliberately shocking value of the fuel which is in fact an integral part of human life.
Run Your Car on Water
Some years before, there were individuals who claimed that it is possible to run cars on water. There were of course people who gasped and heaved some sigh of relief yet the others were under some disbelieving notion. As it goes, running car on water means that car and truck users can now save money and at the same time promote the so-called concept of “going green”. With water acting as the fuel, there will be lesser emissions which mean that the environment will be in a safer state.
The rumors need to be clarified though. Yes, it is possible to use water as a substitute for diesel fuel. However, it can’t be done outright. What has to be done is to extract the water component that is known as hydrogen gas or H2 by using the electrolysis device which will channel the output towards the engine air intake system. As soon as the hydrogen gas is blended with the normal type of diesel fuel, the combustion chambers will burn the mixture and then produce some enormous and powerful produce. This will then lead to more effective mileage.
The process is done by means of electrolysis. As you know, water is made up of two parts hydrogen and then 1 part of oxygen. This is the main reason as to why it is labeled as H2O. The procedure of letting electricity pass through water, the “Brown gas” or technically known as hydrogen will be separated from it. On the other hand, the Brown gas is itself one type of combustible gas which is an absolute source of energy for vehicles.
Resort to Biodiesel
Biodiesel is one more alternative that people can turn to. It can be rooted from vegetable oils, animal fats, and from the used restaurant grease. In some parts of the world, farmers are selling their corn produce to the biodiesel generating industries. While some parties think that this is an unwise move because instead of growing the corn to feed the hungry mouths of the population, they are given up for the production of fuel. Meanwhile, for the farmers, anything that will give them money is good enough to provide for their needs.
Needless to say, these are some of the alternatives that can be adhered to in order to fight off the rising diesel fuel prices.

Massive Tax Breaks For Solar Power For Homes Investors
November 2, 2009 by Sam Deane
With any tax incentive you come across, be sure to read it first. Some tax incentives only apply to commercial solar projects. What you want is tax information for residential solar projects.
Check out the federal government form 5695. With this, you can let them know your costs for installing your residential solar power system. If you are lucky and live in the right state or country, you might even get as much as 30 percent as a tax credit for total costs up to $1,500 for existing homes. This is available all the way through 2010 for home improvements as well. You might also claim a credit for a solar hot water heater system so long as it is in your residential solar power plans. The largest credit amount you can get is $2,000.
Recently, the $2,000 cap was removed for solar hot water heaters. Consumers who use solar hot water heating can claim the full thirty percent of the cost of the system as a tax credit. This unlimited amount also applies to solar panels systems as long as they comply with electrical and fire safety codes.
Costs that qualify for this tax credit include your solar system and hardware costs. Therefore, you can claim for the cost of your residential solar kits including the equipment and the hardware you will need to build the full system. DIY residential solar power system builders can benefit from the costs being less if you shop for your components wisely. You will get more benefit of the tax credit this way.
Each state also has its own set of tax credits and incentives for residents who invest in solar electricity projects. A database was set up to catalog these incentives for renewable energy sources. It is called DSIRE (Database for State Incentives for Renewables and Efficiency). Check it out at www.dsireusa.org.
Lets take the state of California for instance. Sacramento has implemented a residential energy efficiency loan program to help district residents defer the costs of their home improvements that use renewable energy sources. If you own your own property, you can qualify for one of these loans with an interest rate of 8.5 percent.
There’s no harm in taking a look to see what your state and federal government is offering when it comes to going green. Make the best use of these tax incentives and turn your solar power for homes system into a realistically affordable proposition.
Now you can take a break in order to find 125 secrets how to money by going green!
The Green Collar Job Internet Connections
October 2, 2009 by admin
The continuing development of green collar jobs is already hitting the marketplace with great vigor. Enthusiastic new graduates or those looking to transition from one job to another are heading into the green job employer database. The competition is heating up as there are many would be professionals lining up to take on the difficult job of binding the needs of the planet, humans, and resources into one workable situation. Decreasing oil dependence, alternative energy, and hybrid vehicles are just the beginning of creating a truly clean energy world.
Start by knowing your options. While there may very well be a sudden rush to hire individuals qualified to run environmentally sound projects, you need to know whether you’re in the running. There are also more options than most people realize and many are not new green collar jobs. Research, forestry, and conservationism are far from new jobs. Each requires its own level of education and preparedness.
For pending transitional jobs, the demand for environmental lawyers, eco education, and environmental engineering are plentiful. Green collar jobs are not necessarily a simple answer to the economic and joblessness problem. You need the required education and experience for each position.
Take the time to find out what each company that is currently hiring in your field of interest will demand for prerequisite education or experience. Many hopefuls are trying to slip in through the back door without even checking the current state of the requirements. This simply overloads the administration with an onslaught of pointless applications. Landing green collar jobs takes more than an interest in the field or the condition of the planet.
Many of the available green collar jobs do open up an easy transfer from a similar position with another company. If you’re in the equivalent position with a desire to switch to a company with environmentally friendly acts, consider yourself lucky as you may very well be able to make a strong lateral move.
Now that you know what green collar jobs you are prepared to take on, you need to make sure that your resume is up to the minute. Details that include volunteer actions and other ecological experience that you may have would be highly recommended. Your resume is about to float into the internet and help match you with potential employers. You should also take the first step and seek out viable employers to submit to all on your own. Finding green collar jobs may take a little bit of help.
There are places where the green collar employer can look over resumes from those who want to become green collar workers. The simple application boards help the averages increase. Every employer needs a great employee. Every potential employee requires a good job offer. Green collar jobs and their employers are listed on these sites.
These boards are great for connection between company and applicant. The need to fill the available green collar jobs is still quite high and the number of qualified applicants is not quite so high. The continuation of the field’s development means that there will be a continued growth rate of jobs as well as new job openings that need to be filled in the future.
Giving The Green Light To Electronic Document Management Software

Going green may begin at home—but there’s no doubt that it continues in the workplace. Recycling bins, bringing your own mug instead of using paper cups, turning off lights, closing doors and lowering blinds are some ways that employees make an effort.
But what about how you store and organize information? Isn’t it time to trade outdated processes and overstuffed filing cabinets for something more sustainable?
Paper Pitfalls
The average office worker in the US uses 10,000 sheets of paper each year—or two pounds of paper a day. (Source: EPA.)
Where does it all go? Placed in files, shuffled between employees, sent to shipping, tossed in the trash. Offices rent storage space, or require bigger offices for all their paper documents. And not only do they take up space, all that paper is a risk for security and fire damage.
Not to mention incredibly inefficient.
A (compact fluorescent) light bulb over your head
Have you through about electronic document management?
An electronic document management software is just that: online and paperless. It’s a business software application designed to digitally store documents into a repository.
Documents can include anything from invoices to emails to contracts to health records—anything you need. As the documents are stored in the system, they are associated with index information referred to as metadata attributes. With metadata, users can quickly query documents using a web browser or other client application and retrieve the documents electronically on the computer screen.
These systems offer an office numerous capabilities, including storing, indexing and retrieving documents. Additional functionality may involve electronic routing of documents for approval, email archiving, records retention management, document scanning, optical character recognition (OCR), online collaboration with vendors and suppliers, security, disaster recovery, and reporting.
It’s a paperless office solution that reduces your carbon footprint and increases efficiency.

Because when you need a document, you need it quickly. Paperless information can be searched and retrieved much faster, without leaving your desk. Filing and retrieval is reduced from minutes to seconds—a huge productivity gain.
Plus, it’s easier to share information. Not just because files are online, but also to collaborate: A paperless system supports collaboration tools like check-in/check-out, document version control, email archiving, and remote access.
Not to mention secure: Digital documents are more easily backed-up, and can be made available quickly in the event of a disaster.
How can this help me?
Just think about all the times you’ve tried to get something accomplished off-line. Processing an invoice for payment? Keeping all necessary records in an archive? And when multiple employees work on a single document, how can you be sure it’s the most current version?
Here are just a few examples where electronic Keyword2% can help you go lean and green:
Electronic Approvals: Electronically route documents for review and approval, apply digital signatures, and create electronic markups. Reviewing documents online reduces demand for paper and ink.
Digital Archiving: Electronically archive paper documents in PDF or Tiff formats. Digitally archiving your documents reduces the need for paper storage facilities, limits exposure to fire/flood damage, and promotes recycling efforts.
Collaboration: Share documents online with co-workers, vendors, and suppliers. By providing electronic access to documents, companies reduce delays, cut costs, and lower the environmental impacts of shipping paper documents.
Processing an invoice is another great example.
An invoice arrives. It needs to be routed up the approval chain for payment. In a paper world, this process is slow, invoices get misplaced, data is manually entered, people forget to approve, and so on. Yet for many companies, a paper-based process is still the norm.
In the digital era, paper-based processes such as invoice approval can be easily automated. This way, an invoice would arrive and be digitized, capturing data that is automatically incorporated into accounting systems. Notifications with electronic copies of the invoices go out to approvers, and simple workflow steps ensure that the necessary approvals are obtained, and accounting receives notification of approval and pays the bill.
The big benefit is time. Time is money.
In addition to financial costs, the environmental impacts cannot be unnoticed. The production process to produce paper stock requires harvesting trees, consumes significant energy leading to increased greenhouse gases, and involves chemicals that we weren’t allowed to touch in chemistry class.
All this goes to show how electronic document management system can help employees work faster, smarter, and greener.
Solar Energy Jobs Increasing and Available

The recent spike in the available solar energy jobs is really exciting when you consider how this will lower fuel consumption and relieve oil dependence. The 25% spike in the solar job market indicates that we are finally making the right strides to get to where we need to go in order to save our planet.
Alternative energy jobs are expected to continue their drastic increase over the next several years. Many state and local governmental offices are exploring the need for alternative energy sources for the cities and towns that they govern. Solar energy is at the top of the list. Coastal towns are leaning toward wind energy, but either one will open up more jobs and cleaner air.
As alternative energy jobs go, solar energy jobs are one of the most readily available. It is speculated that the job market will continue to grow for several more years. Without the appropriate research and the access to qualified construction, solar energy will be delayed in its implementation all over the United States. Joining the wind turbine industry, solar panels are expected to become one of the most common home improvements within the next 15 years.
The solar energy jobs that will come from the progressive research in solar power will include a very wide range of jobs and education levels. We will need superior construction and maintenance as well as prime negotiators to work with the power companies. We will need continued educational campaigns to help keep the solar industry thriving and the clean energy projects moving forward.
We are moving forward at a rapid speed in filling the solar energy jobs and giving a huge boost to the eco friendly energy movement. While many European countries have surpassed our current level of eco success, we are catching up quickly. The science behind the solar energy and the construction needs for continued use and development is already here. Alternative energy jobs are proving our progress in clean energy.
Solar energy can provide homes and business with enough power to decrease fossil fuels gas by 25%. Solar energy may one day lead us to new cars that don’t need fuel. There is no limit to where the development of alternative energy will take us. Being part of the generation that offers the best and most practical solutions would be an amazing experience.
While there are numerous internships and apprenticeships available in the alternative energy job industry, it is best if you review the educational requirements and meet them in order to join the rather exciting movement toward efficiency.
Those who see a transfer as a job bonus and are able and willing to lose some college credit in exchange for employment before graduation are good candidates for the solar power jobs industry. Finishing your education while starting in the field can mean a huge leap forward into your new career.
What Do Alternative Energy Job Add to the Future?

Will alternative energy jobs save us from ourselves? The state of the planet is in serious condition and we need to take some serious action in order to change the way things are. Water pollution, toxic air, and even indoor air pollutants are taking over the world in a steady pattern. Ground level ozone lingers on our door steps and we are now finally turning to renewable energy jobs to reverse the problem.
Even with our alternative energy job plan that has been on the table for many years, the cost to the planet when it comes to transportation and manufacturing plants is unacceptably high. In order to start developing hope of a healthy planet, the alternative energy job market must become a priority. Without that, there’s not a lot that is fixing the problems.
Wind energy jobs are already starting to crop up along the coast lines of the United States. With the perpetual winds across the oceans, there is no reason why we can harness that wind and transform it into power.
If we could drop our needs for perpetual energy, or replace our energy sources, the gains would be more than merely lower energy bills but a lower ecological price. We need this type of action in order to start moving from our current energy practices into clean energy practices.
From every direction that we look at the problem there really only seems to be one solution. If we want to start developing a better planet to live on, we have to catch up to the damage the we have done already. By progressing in this stable and efficient manner, the market for renewable energy jobs will increase, simultaneously giving the economic issues another shove.
There has to be a people friendly awareness as these jobs progress. Alternative energy jobs have to focus on combining the needs of the planet with the needs of the people. We rely on our energy for a reason and we can’t expect a nation or a world to start operating on different principles overnight. The impact of wiping out pollutant energy without balancing the needs of the people would be great.
Without the research and the continuous ingenious developments of energy conservation jobs and alternative energy jobs our children may end up wearing gas masks by the time they are thirty just to go outside. The beaches could be closed because the sun’s rays have just gotten too strong with the reduction in the ozone layer. Clean energy jobs are the bottom line if we want to stop the destruction and welcome the protection.
Anyone that might be interested in transitioning into new green collar jobs should start looking at the requirements now. Over the next several years the predictions for employment are quite impressive. This is the field where experts predict the most continuous growth. Starting your job preparations today may very well open up new opportunities tomorrow.
One Of The Most Overlooked Areas When Going Green.

Often overlooked in today’s marketplace when using green products, is how to reduce your carbon footprint. Maybe a story about the use of CFL (Compact Florescent Lamp) bulbs will help illustrate the point. I was having breakfast at a local restaurant when my father (who was visiting from out of town) observed that only forks and knives were used in the place setting. It seems that customers no longer need spoons.
When my server came over and asked what I wanted to eat, I asked about the spoons. I was informed that the chain’s “corporate” office had informed all the restaurants that the busboy, when putting down place setting, was not allowed to put a spoon on the setting. Now I must say this does look pretty odd, mostly since I grew up with a spoon included with the setting. I checked with someone who still teaches etiquette classes, and yep, it is still required.
I asked if she knew why this change had occurred and why no green products like CFL bulbs. I was told that in order to conserve energy that spoons were only given to customers that would use them. It appears they believe that it costs a lot to clean an unused spoon. So the possibility of cleaning an unused spoon was removed. And yet how odd, no investment in green products that could save money such as CFL bulbs.
I must, say this is a little short sighted on the company’s part. Most of us go to a restaurant to eat. We assume a comfortable, warm, satisfying environment, not to have to stress out trying to get the server’s attention so we can get the long lost forgotten spoon. OK, a little melodrama, but the point is why should I have to ask for something that has always been there? This cost saving if there is any would be in pennies per year while using CFL bulbs would be in dollars.
While pondering this, I happened to look up. Having written a few articles on energy savings, I noticed that they were still using incandescent bulbs. From where I sat I could count more than fifty bulbs burning energy as I waited for my order, and no green products like CFL bulbs in sight. Everywhere I looked and in every room that a customer had access, there were no green products in use. If they were trying to save money, you would think some green products like energy saving CFL bulbs would be used.
Each of the incandescent light bulbs was about 75 watts. Based on their opening and closing times they are open 138 hours a week for customers and another 10 or so for cleanup and maintenance.
Now it does not take a mathematician to do a little basic math. Let’s compare a chain using incandescent bulb vs. the same chain using CFL bulbs. If we take the 50 incandescent bulbs and multiply it by the bulb’s wattage, it would equal the watts consumed per hour or 50*75= 3,750. Now we know the store is open 138 hours a week, so multiplying this by the watts per hour, we would get 517,500 watts consumed per week. Finally multiply this by the weeks in a year, and we get 517,500*52 = 26,910,000 or 27 megawatts without green products.
From the Internet I was able to learn that they have 88 stores in their chain. So if we assume this is an average store we can multiply the 27 megawatts times the 88 stores and we see that this chain is using around 2368 megawatts per year just on lighting.
What if we used one of the new green products, the CFL bulb, instead of the incandescent bulb how much could we save? Let’s take a look. We know that a comparable CFL would be in the 18 watt range based on the Energy Star tables. If we replace the 75 watts in the above equation with 18 watts CFL we would get; 50*18*138*52*88 = 568 megawatts consumed per year. This would save the chain about 2368-568 = 1,800 megawatt hours per year. I would say this would be a pretty good investment in green products, don’t you?

Are Little Vampires Eating Your Electricity

We have added many new green products to reduce energy in our homes. But have we forgotten about many of the small energy consumers in our home that are wasting energy every day? I am talking about those small little black power supplied plugged in all around our home.
Have you noticed that whenever you buy some new green product, toy, radio, or printer it comes with one of those little square power supplies? I must have 7-10 sitting in a box that I have collect over the years and I have no idea what they belong to anymore even some that are from green products. The external power supply is a great device and has helped reduce the sizes of electronics, but it is also a power consumer. Whenever the power supply is plugged in, it consumes power. It does not matter if something is attached or not, it still consumes power.
Another area to look at is audio/video equipment, TVs, video games, converter boxes, computer equipment or the latest green products. This equipment comes with a standby or power down mode of operation.
This unseen energy consumption occurs every night in small and large business alike, probably more so because we assume that when we leave work someone will turn the lights out.
So when you go home tonight under every desk is likely to be a power supply consuming power all night. If we look at a normal office space we will most likely find 3-5 of these little power supplies plugged in right now. If you multiple the number of supplies in your office space by the number of offices (counting every cubical) in the business you will have a large number of power supplies using electricity ever night.
They can’t use that much energy!
Most utilities will state that close to 15% of your electric bill is those little power supplies and standby electronic equipment. That will amount to $65-$95 dollars wasted per year.
With the reduction in size of electronics we have reduced the amount of electricity required to run these green products. This is where a device called a step-down transformer is required. A step-down transformer is nothing more than long loops of copper wire connect to the power plug. The wire used in the transformer is often several hundred feet long. Whenever the unit is plugged into the wall it will feel warm to the touch, indicating it is drawing power.
This consumption of electricity is directly related to the ON/OFF button on your remote control. In order to sense when you press the button the TV/Audio/Video equipment must be supplied power to run the sense components, even the new green products that are on the market still need some power.
So how do we prevent all this power consummation?
A simple method is to connect all your TV/audio/video equipment and small power supplies to a power strip with an on/off switch.
Power strips were designed with a mechanical switch to disconnect the appliance from the power source (the wall plug). Do this and no power is transferred or used until the switch is turned on. Walla, no power consumption.
I agree, it does seem inconvenient or it did until I saw the change in my electric bill. All from using a power strip.
Is it worth the investment or should I just buy more green products?
Before installing any new green products or the power strips my power meter was rotating around 1-2 rotations per minute.
I bought power strips for the entertainment system, computer system and recharging area (phones, batteries, etc).
With the power strips turned off I checked the meter again. Wow, it had dropped to 1 rotation every 2 minutes, what an improvement and without having to invest in additional green products.
With everything there is an initial cost. Mine was around $20 dollars for these new green products, look around for the strips on sales. Maybe you can get them cheaper, try it you may find you save some money and reduce your carbon footprint at the same time.

Renewable Wind Energy For Your Home

Just about anywhere you live you will find wind. Where I live the wind blow hard quite often but it is always moving regardless of how hard it blows. One of the fastest growing sources of power is renewable wind energy. We are seeing wind farms all over the country as well as wind turbines in the back yard of homes.
In geographical areas where winds blow strong, renewable wind energy is a smart choice for providing electric power to homes and small businesses. Yet even if you dont live in windy areas, you can still supplement your current electricity supply by utilizing renewable wind energy. The wind blows wherever you are.
One of the benefits to using a DYI guide is the fact that even us non-builders can follow them and build our own wind turbines to make power and thereby lower our electric bills. It does not take a rocket scientist to do this and it is extremely safe when the right precautions are taken.
A good renewable wind energy system might have a number of wind turbines to build up a good amount of power. Of course a residential area could easily supply power with one wind turbine since too many would be over kill.
One of the advantages of manufacturing your own renewable wind energy is that you can sell it back to the power companies in most states. You will want to check with the laws in your area and with the power company that services your area.
Our local counties and townships have recently passed laws allowing the use of wind turbines to generate renewable wind energy. The first local business to incorporate them into their system is the largest grocery chain in our town. There are a number of residential homes also applying this technique to their energy efficiency. You can no doubt do the same.
The very best part of integrating a renewable wind energy system into your home or business is the environmental impact. Renewable wind energy produces little to no pollution, no harmful greenhouse gases and no methane or carbon dioxide-which contribute to global warming. And of course the savings those homeowners can realize after their initial investment in renewable wind energy.

Consumers, businesses, and organizations may purchase green energy in order to support further development, help reduce the environmental impacts of conventional electricity generation, and increase their nation’s energy independence. Green Energy Products is a full service consultancy and sales business specializing in, you guessed it, green energy products. We all understand that going green is no longer simply a life-style choice – its a societal responsibility and an economic reality that we all must face.
Green energy’s end-products include PV modules and PV systems in different sizes and power outputs. It sells PV modules under its own brand name, Yingli, to PV system integrators and distributors located in various markets around the world, including Germany, Spain, China, Italy and the United States. Green Energy does not undertake any obligation to update any forward-looking statement as a result of new information, future events or otherwise, except as required under applicable law.
Instead, they may turn their attention to more capital-efficient companies. Instead of looking the other way, we should be looking carefully at the results of any analysis as the explanation would be interesting.any way you look at it. Instead of promoting electric automobiles they should be promoting high speed rail and rapid transit. This gives people more time to use google’s services instead of wasting their time driving while providing truly sustainable and better transportation.
Truthfully, the only difference between you and clean energy experts is time. If you’ll invest a little more time in reading, you’ll be that much nearer to expert status when it comes to clean energy.
Renewables – with the exception of biofuels – will substantially reduce gasoline/diesel only when significant numbers of the automobiles are powered by electricity – probably 10-15 years at the earliest. This confusion of energies (“electrons versus liquids” as one pundit puts it) has muddied debate on energy issues for years.
Wind Energy – Another ancient source of power, wind energy has been harnessed by sailors, farmers and architects for many years, even documented as far back as 5,000 years ago. The energy coming from the wind supercharges the blades of the wind turbines. Windmills and Nuclear power plants will not actually LOWER the concentration. Nature has a solution for us though, photosynthesis.
But organic matter is added to the plants extend nearly as far below ground as above. And with its network of stems and roots, holding on to soil even in winter to prevent erosion. But demand keeps growing and the output from some of SVP’s older geothermal fields is expected to decline.
Those who only know one or two facts about clean energy can be confused by misleading information. The best way to help those who are misled is to gently correct them with the truths you’re learning here.
3 Ways Hydro-power Is Produced
May 12, 2009 by admin
Hydro-power has been used for a variety of functions over the years. It was used in flour mills, where water-wheels turn a shaft, that ground the flour, and even in irrigation system thousands of years ago. These days, it has a more prominent role as a renewable source of energy.
There are three methods to producing hydro-power: hydro-electric energy, tidal energy. and through ocean waves.
Hydroelectric Power:
This form of hydro power accounts for over 90% of all renewable energy generated. Power is generated in large dams, where water is forced through large turbines.
The benefit to this type of hydro-power is the dam serves two purposes – to store water and to produce power. In fact, the water has so much stored energy, that it is capable of generating thousands of megawatts of power to light up an entire city.
The disadvantage is the devastating effect dams can have on plants, animals and even humans. When dams are built they flood large tracts of land that were once occupied by various species and communities of people. Furthermore, the water-borne animals, such as fish can also be affected. An example would be salmon that are blocked from swimming upstream to spawn by the newly erected dam.
Using The Tides:
Using the tides is the second most common form of hydro-power. Here, electricity is generated by using the low and high tides.
France and Russia have successfully used tidal power since 1966. One system is used in large bays and estuaries where water from the high tide is dammed up and diverted through turbines at low tide.
Because it works with the tides, the system is very predicable. However this is also its pitfall, since it only works every 6 hours when the tides changes.
The latest tidal power system operates where large windmill-type turbines are placed in shallow water, and spin slowly as the tide comes in and goes out.
The advantage of this system is that it is an adaptation of an already technologically advanced wind turbine – so all the refinement has been done. Furthermore, the dense water is far more efficient than wind at spinning these turbines. Thus even slow-moving water is just as effective as a strong wind.
The problem is these turbines can only be built in shallow sea floors, where marine life can be damaged and other enterprises, such as oyster farming, is affected.
Wave Power:
Harnessing the power of the waves is the newest type of hydro-power. The system works where surface waves, are used to displace air, which is then compressed and release through turbines, that then spins to make electricity. Two type currently exist – the first is built along the shore-line, where waves constantly break, and the second is built on floating devices in the deep oceans.
What makes this technology so appealing is it potential to harness over two thousand megawatts of power that the ocean’s waves contain.
But, like any renewable energy system, there are environmental implications. These systems can damage the various corals and other ocean species along our coastlines. And the hydraulic fluid used could cause major water pollution if it ever leaked out into the sea.
Last words:
Over the years we have come up with advanced methods of using water to produce power. Though there are a variety of benefits to using this kind of renewable energy, there are still a number of social and environmental concerns.

Hydropower, as you may acceptance from the name, refers to the use of admit to after-effects power. It is one of the oldest and best about acclimated renewable action sources, adequate accustomed aback the paddle alembic was invented in the 1800s and accounts for about 3/4 of the US renewable action use today. Before of electric adeptness was broadly available, hydropower was acclimated to adeptness mills, bolt machines and for irrigation.
Technically, hydropower works in a agnate way to wind power. The ability of the movement of baptize is acclimatized usually through a aqueduct which contains blades that are pushed by the water. The spinning of the blades is what produces the electricity. Sometimes this ability can be acclimatized in what is alleged a “run of the river” arrangement area the force of a river accepted is used. Other times a blazon of accumulator arrangement is activated area the baptize is dammed up in a backlog and again appear back electricity is needed. The Hoover dam is an archetype of this blazon of system.
As connected as we acquire admit abounding on earth, hydropower is renewable. It is additionally generated with no adulteration accessories and no pollution. However, some environmentalists do not accept it to be the best anterior of adeptness because harnessing this adeptness does affect a change in the ambiance which changes the acclimatized habitats of creatures that animate in and about the admit in these areas. For example, creating a corruption like the Hoover corruption disrupts the acclimatized breeze of the river abashing ancestry breadth and accepting in the way of fish, like salmon, that allegation to bath upstream.
Along with rivers, the ocean can be acclimated to after-effects hydropower. Collapsed power, collapsed allure adeptness and angishore adeptness are all examples of appliance this renewable resource. Collapsed adeptness can be acclimated in areas that acquire a abounding collapsed abuttals breadth the acceptance and attainable tides changeabout turbines to accomplish electricity. This technology has actually been acclimated in France aback the 1960s.
Tidal stream power is similar to tidal power however it uses the energy from the continuous currents in the water. This new technology is still being researched but does show quite a bit of promise.
It is alarm that harnessing the adeptness of after-effects from the ocean can absolutely crop added activity than burst power. This too, is a new technology which uses accessories which either float on top of the after-effects or are affronted by the displacement of air by the waves. While this technology has yet to be proven, it additionally shows promise.
There is no doubt, hydropower is one of the renewable action sources we should be adorable into in the future. Its clean, renewable and abundant!
