The Basics Of Residential Wind Power
August 31, 2009 by David Glen

If you live in a region where the prevailing winds are regular and relatively strong, then you can probably install a residential wind turbine to save a great deal on your electrical energy costs. A wind turbine can help you to use less power from your local utility company, especially when used in conjunction with photovoltaic cells. Some people living in areas where conditions are ideal have even managed to go completely off the grid! While that’s not possible for most of us, the ability of a wind turbine to turn the kinetic energy of wind into the electrical power you need for your home can save you a substantial amount of money on your energy bills.
Typically, a residential wind power application is served at the same time by the wind turbine and the local utility. If the wind velocity is beneath cut-in speed of seven to ten miles per hour, there will be no output from the turbine and all of the appropriate power is bought from the utility. When wind speeds accelerate, turbine output increases and the load of power purchased from the utility is suitably decreased. When the turbine generates more power than the house needs, the added electricity is sold to the utility.
In general, a wind turbine can lower a homeowner’s electric bills by around 50% and up, depending on the exact wind power system and number of turbines used. How much a smaller wind turbine will save exactly all depends on the power usage of the home and the average wind speeds in the area, among other factors.
Wind systems are very sensitive to the average wind speed in the area, so if it were a concern, a turbine owner should have at least an average wind speed of 10 miles per hour and be paying at a lesser fee for electricity.
However, home owners don’t usually need to take measurements of wind speed in order to use residential wind power systems. This data is already freely available without having to do your own tests; though you may want to look up the average wind speed in your area before you install. If you happen to live somewhere which has enough wind to make a residential wind turbine cost effective, then you may go ahead and install the residential wind turbine in confidence.
Residential wind systems are quiet and don’t interfere with television or other electronic signals and can be installed with relative ease. Your local utility may even install an additional meter in your home to measure the excess electricity your wind power system is feeding back into the power grid.
You can choose from ready to install wind turbine systems which are ready to go with a minimal amount of work or purchase the parts you’ll need to build and install your own residential wind power system. If you’re mechanically inclined, you can save a tidy sum by installing your own system, though a ready to install system has the advantage of coming with customer support in case you have any questions as you install. Homeowners should ponder which of these systems is best for their home and decide accordingly.
Installing wind power generation at home also helps the environment. Wind turbines generate no pollution and by means of wind power, they can counterbalance tons of air pollutants and greenhouse gases which all cause climate change.

With the current state of the economy and our dwindling global oil supply, everyone is a little scared about what the future holds. But fear can also be a positive motivator. Case in point is the new homemade solar panels industry that has sprung up. Everyone knows that we need to cut back on energy usage and especially fossil fuels like oil that cause environmental damage as well as global warming. Low cost homemade solar panels appear to be the solution. These homemade solar power systems use deep cycle batteries to store the electricity and can be used 24 hours a day, even at night.
Who in the entire world does not wish to have their energy bills reduced by 80% or more? Many of us would jump at the chance to take advantage of such a great deal. You can make your own homemade solar panels and install a system for less than $200. Earth4Energy sells a step by step guide that shows you how to do it.
The Earth4Energy guide has: quick and easy instructions, what parts to buy and where to find them, a bonus section on how to build a homemade wind generator to save more money off your energy bill, and a 60 day guarantee that if you are not saving hundreds of dollars a month off your monthly power bill you get all your money back, no questions asked.
There are also detailed instructions explained by videos.
It still seems incredible to me that anyone can follow this guide and build a homemade solar panels and wind power system and save 80% off their monthly energy bill. I think the reason we do not hear about this in mainstream media more is because of special interests blocking this kind of technology. Think about it. The big energy companies hate you for producing your own energy and the government hates you because they can not tax it.
I am proud to say that I have my own homemade solar power system in place. When I tell my friends that I built it, the first thing they ask me is if I can build them one and they will pay me for it. I could start my own homemade solar power business and I just might do that in the future. Of course I do not tell them about the easy guide I bought, I would rather have them think I am a genius.

Air Purifiers – Clean the Atmosphere Effectively
Air-purifiers are simple time-telling equipments that purify the contaminated air by freeing it from unnecessary pollutants. The working of the air purifier is simple. They draw in contaminated airs, absorb the contaminants from the unclean air thereby purging the air inside the filter and releasing it effectively into the atmosphere outside. In a nutshell, the air-purifiers not only remove the harmful particles from the air, but also provide protection against hazardous smoke particles and airborne gases. So get an air-purifier to clean the atmosphere in your home and office.
With the consumer demand for air-purifiers rising high, the companies have stepped-up the production of air-purifiers.
The different types of air-purifiers that are available in the market are HEPA filter air-purifiers, carbon air-purifiers, ozone air-purifiers, ionic air-purifiers and ultraviolet light air-purifiers.
Following are the benefits and disadvantages of various air-purifiers:
HEPA air purifiers
Advantages – the allergens are captured and not released into the air once they are trapped.
Carbon air-purifiers
Ozone air purifiers
Advantages – truly effective for removing odors, cigarette smells, and chemical fumes
Disadvantages – not effective for allergens and most of the chemicals
Ionic air-purifiers
Advantages – capable of removing extremely fine particles almost anywhere in the rooms even those that are several feet away from the air-purifiers.
Ultra-violet light air-purifiers
Advantages – aids in the destruction of microorganisms that cause diseases.
The air-purifiers assist in purifying the contaminated air in your home and office thereby freeing the air from unnecessary pollutants. While the air-cleaners clean the air, the air-purifiers absorb dust, pollen, viruses, molds, tobacco smokes, dust mites and other industrial/household chemicals, thereby purifying the air completely.
Today the air purifiers come in a package containing top-class elements that have increased the usage of air-purifiers to a great extent. The air-purifiers contain HEPA [High Efficiency Particulate Air] filters, ion generators, ozone generators, electrostatic filters, ultraviolet light and other methods that help the air-purifiers to get rid off both large and miniscule particles.
Air purifiers come in various shapes, sizes, and types. Out of these various types of air-purifiers, while some of the air-purifiers draw in air via a fan, cleaning the air and re-releasing it, most of the other air-purifiers work by actually spreading the purified air in the entire room.
Following are the various types of air-purifiers available in the market:
1) Room air-purifiers – room air purifiers have replaced the tabletop units in the 1990s as the leading brand of air-purifiers.
2) Ion generators – these air-purifiers work by generating charged ions into the atmosphere.
3) Whole-house air-purifiers – these air-purifiers serve the purpose of cleaning and purifying the atmosphere of the entire home.
4) HEPA Filtered air-purifiers – HEPA stands for High Efficiency Particulate Air and are made of charcoal. After the air is cleaned inside the purifier, the air is made to circulate in the entire home.

Air Purifiers Basic Buying Guide
If you have been on a lookout for a home Air Purifier, you probably know that air purifiers come in, well, a few types namely: expensive, more expensive, and COWABUNGA! Indeed, the prices that some air purifiers cost can be quite hefty. There are three different kinds of air purifiers that work on different principles. They are ionic air purifiers, HEPA filter system and ultraviolet system air purifiers. This well-known air purifier always has some special deal going. For example like “Get $100 off for a limited time.”, “Get a free mini-Ionic Breeze air purifier when you purchase one of their full-sized air purifiers.” The more air purifiers they sell at the price, the more money goes into their pockets. Comparison Shopping
So you think that buying an air purifier directly from the company is always the best policy? You must understand that the shopping search engines make their commission on air purifiers regardless of the purchase price. There plenty of websites out there that provide consumers a chance to voice their experience and give ratings to the air purifiers. This help you quickly weed out the bad products and get you to focus on those air purifiers that are worth getting.
Warranty
In this day and age, most electrical products that we buy should come with a warranty. Thus you must take into account the warranty given when you are purchasing an air purifier. For example, “limited warranty” offers usually mean the company covers little if your air purifier breaks down. Always look for a solid air purifier warranty from a reputable company with a good customer relations department locally. Sending air purifiers at overnight rates can often cost half of what air purifiers cost you in the first place. Look for Bargains
This comes after you have identified the exact model of air purifier that you have decided to buy. Start by doing some comparison of air purifier prices. One excellent place to check out for great bargains are auction sites like EBay. Sometimes it will be hard to resist the many deals on air purifiers out there like “Free shipping.” “Buy any of our air purifiers and get a gift.”
Six Easy Steps for Choosing an Air Purifier
An air purifier can be very useful to improve the quality of your indoor air and make it more fit for breathing. Well, here are the factors to consider when choosing an air purifier.
Criteria for Choosing Air Purifiers
1) Size of the area: The size of the room that you wish to purify is an important consideration when buying an air purifier. If you choose a purifier that is too small, it will not effectively clean the indoor air, thus rendering itself useless.
2) Your purification needs: Why do you need an air purifier? What do you wish to remove from your indoor air? • Most people want to buy an air purifier so that they can enhance their health through cleaner air. They wish to get rid of niggling allergies and other health problems caused by bad indoor air. If that is the case, you need an air purifier for your whole house so that you can benefit from purer air throughout your home. If your primary need is to remove harmful particulates, then a HEPA air purifier is your best bet as it effectively eliminates particles as small as 0.03 microns. To effectively remove germs and bacteria, you can choose an air purifier with a UV system as these kills’ bacteria most effectively. However, in order to make your air as clean as possible, it is best to choose an air purifier that has multiple filtration systems and not just one.
3) The CADR Rating: Clean Air Delivery Rate (CADR) is a rating that tells you how effective an air purifier is in eliminating dust mites, pollen particles, and smoke from your indoor air.
4) Number of air changes per hour: This indicates the number of times a particular air purifier purifies the entire air within a given area in one hour.
Obviously, the higher the air changes per hour, the more efficient the purifier is, in not only purifying the air, but also maintaining its purity by ridding the air of its impurities and pathogens rapidly and consistently. Thus, you need to choose one with as high air changing/hour rate as possible.
5) While choosing an air purifier, you need to be aware of how regularly it needs to be serviced and cleaned.
6) Noise Level: Some air purifiers make so much noise that they can literally wake up the dead!

Brandon Davis of Bedrock Energy Development, . in Denver, Colorado stated, our company is a Natural Gas and Independent Oil Company that is specializing in the acquisition of fields in petroleum rich areas and drill sites in the domestic United States.
Brandon Davis continued that finding natural gas has boosted energy experts and policy makers to look for natural gas in their pursuit of a wide range of goals which would ease the impact of energy price raises reducing the dependence of foreign oil, speed the transition to renewable fuels and lowering greenhouse gas emissions.
The preparedness of natural gas generation enables us to be more aggressive in charting a transition to a low-carbon economy, said Brandon Davis of Bedrock Energy Development in Denver, Colorado.
New advancement in software and drilling equipment have helped production rise eleven percent in the past two years. This has driven prices down to a 6 year low and allowed producers to temporarily cut back on drilling and seek a new source.
As oil is harder to find and more expensive to produce, natural gas is becoming more in demand. The United States relies on oil imported from the Middle East and other politically unstable regions. However, ninety-eight percent of the natural gas used in the United States is produced in North America.
Natural gas has never played more than a supporting role in the nation’s energy supply. Crude oil, refined into gasoline or diesel, fuels nearly all U.S. cars or trucks, as stated by Brandon Davis in Denver, Colorado.
Brandon Davis of Bedrock Energy Development in Denver, Colorado said, almost everyone in the U.S. uses natural gas. The largest user is industry. It uses natural gas as a heat source to manufacture products. Fertilizer, photographic film, ink, glue, paint and plastics are a few of the items that have natural gas as an ingredient.

How To Select The Best Air Purifier

How to Select the Best Air Purifier
Indoor air pollution is a serious problem. In some buildings with a lack of proper ventilation, the indoor air may be 100 times more polluted than the air outside! Air purifiers eliminate allergens, toxic chemicals, and other dangerous pollutants. This article explains why people use air purifiers, how they work, which air purifiers you should avoid, and how to select the Air Purifiers for your needs.
Common Indoor Air Pollutants
What is the source of indoor air pollution? VOCs can enter the air through chemical off-gassing from furniture, new carpets, adhesives, plastics, and various building materials. How Air Purifiers Work
HEPA air purifiers use a HEPA air filter, which was developed by the Atomic Energy Commission in the 1940s as a way to filter radioactive contaminants. HEPA filters set the standard for air purifiers: to be classified as HEPA, a filter must capture a minimum of 99.97% of pollutants at 0.3 microns or larger. Top-selling HEPA air purifiers include the Austin Air purifier, available with a HEGA (High Efficiency Gas Adsorption) filter, along with air purifiers from IQAir, Allerair, Blueair, and Honeywell.
Activated carbon filters remove gases, odors, and chemical toxins. The Friedrich air purifier is, by far, the best electrostatic air purifier, as well as the overall top-ranked air purifier in previous Consumer Reports rankings
Charged media filters give pollutants an electrostatic charge before collecting them in a traditional filter. Charged media filters are typically quite effective, but like electrostatic filters, they lose efficiency rapidly-and they may require frequent and expensive filter changes. Some charged media air filter units also emit ozone. The advantage of charged media filters is that they are quieter and more energy-efficient than HEPA air purifiers. The Blueair air purifier is the best charged media filter, and it does not emit ozone.
Where and How to Use an Air Purifier
If you suffer from allergies (especially if you’re allergic to dust mite allergen), then the best place for an air purifier is your bedroom. You should run your air purifier continuously for optimum performance. Most air purifiers have high and low settings. Even if you go on vacation, we recommend that you keep your air purifier running on low. Otherwise, you’ll return to a house full of polluted air! If you are concerned about your electric bill, find out how much energy an air purifier uses before buying it. Typical HEPA air purifiers can use anywhere from 50 watts on low to 200 watts on high. Air Purifiers to Avoid
Avoid ozone generators and ionizing air cleaners. These air purifiers create ions that attract pollutants; however, many of the pollutants are released back into the air, often times leading to dirty spots on nearby walls. Besides the fact that they don’t do a good job of cleaning the air, ozone generators and ionizing cleaners also emit ozone. Consumer Reports points out: “Our air-cleaning tests show that the Ionic Breeze with OzoneGuard does a poor job of removing smoke, dust and pollen particles from the air when new and after 500 hours of continuous use” and “the Ionic Breeze with OzoneGuard still adds ozone to the air.”
How to Buy the Best Air Purifier
The air purifier market is vast and riddled with confusing and often misleading advertising schemes. You may also want to consider the following factors before buying an air purifier: the area coverage (make sure the square footage listed for the air purifier is about the same or slightly greater than the square footage of the room where you intend to use it); the ACH rating (Air Changes Per Hour-this number lets you know how frequently the air purifier can exchange all the air in a given room); the CADR (the Clean Air Delivery Rate tells you how much air is purified and how well it is purified); the price; how often you have to replace the filters and how much they cost; the noise level of the air purifier; energy usage; whether it emits ozone; extra features (like a filter change indicator light); the manufacturer’s reputation; and the warranty.

How To Buy Wind Turbine Insurance
August 28, 2009 by Sean Hernandez
Where can you buy wind turbine insurance? First let us cover some basics. Very few people have ever heard of the electric company requiring a million dollar insurance policy. Do not freak out if you are told you need such a policy by your local electric company. You need to know about this insurance requirement before you spend the money on your wind turbine.
In many cases, you do not need extra insurance. Where you need extra insurance coverage is if you are wiring your wind turbine or solar power system to connect to the power grid. If you are running your wind turbine to a battery bank that is never connected to the power grid, then you do not need to spend the money on extra insurance. The electric company has every right to demand that you have a million dollar insurance policy if you are connecting to the power grid.
More and more electric companies are requiring additional insurance protection: in most cases, a million dollar insurance policy if you connect your system to the power grid. Texas is one such state.
A friend of mine wanted to install a wind generator for electricity but the local power company in Texas would not let him connect to the power grid unless he could show that he had a million dollar insurance policy. He called every insurance company he could think of and no one had ever heard of this insurance policy that he can buy. The reason that he wanted to connect directly to the power grid was so that he did not use a battery bank but instead could sell the energy produced back to the electric company.
Here are the steps we took to solve the problem. We called the local power company and told them we wanted a reverse meter installed so that we could get proper credit for the energy we produced. We had to go to the county office to find out the wiring we had to use. The power company requires insurance as well as the correct wiring because they do not want one of their workers electrocuted who is working on a power line somewhere down from your wind turbine or solar panel system.
Here is where you can save yourself a lot of headache. Do not call your insurance company and ask about a wind turbine or solar panel policy. There is no policy like this. What you do is get an umbrella policy on your homeowner’s insurance. This type of policy covers more than what your homeowner’s insurance policy does. You might have an insurance company that calls this “secondary insurance”. Use the Internet to find an insurance company that will sell such a policy to you.
Just keep in mind that there are quality standards you need to follow if you connect to the power grid. You need a reverse power relay and an automatic transfer switch that will disconnect you from the power grid in case of a power outage. You also need to stay “in phase” with the power grid. When you buy a wind turbine, the manufacturer should tell you everything you need to know to do this. If you are building a wind turbine then the instruction book will tell you what you need to know.
Coolerado Wins 2009 UC Davis Cooling Challenge
August 28, 2009 by Gogreen

This years UC Davis Western Cooling Challenge winner has been announced as the denver based company, Coolerado Corp. The UC Davis challenge was designed to help manufacturers design better air conditioners and for retailers to find out more information about them.
Coolerado won the challenge with their new H-80 commercial rooftop cooling unit, they were announced winners after test results came back regarding the unit. The tests discovered that the 5 ton rooftop cooling unit actually uses less than half the standard amount of energy needed by a conventional unit.
The test were done at the HVAC Lab at the US Government’s National Renewable Energy Laboratory and the results came as a surprise to many people. The director of the UC Davis challenge, Mark Modera, originally believed that the H-80 unit would only save 40% energy compared to standard units. However, the results of the tests found that the massive unit actually uses 80% less power than conventional units.
The winning unit, the Coolerado H-80 rooftop unit, has been designed for small commercial shops and offices. One H-80 cooling unit has the ability to cool up to 3,000 square feet of space, just a little bit more than a conventional ceiling fans.
No doubt with this announcement, a large number of companies will look to invest in a H-80 unit to try and improve their green profile. Air conditioners and air purifier units are seen as a luxury and for this reason, they are considered one of the worst things that damage the environment. Now with this news, the H-80 will become very popular with both the customers and retailers. No doubt many people never really think about the implications of keeping their favorite stores cool.
The good news and publicity so far has been mainly for Coolerado, however, this could soon change. A numer of other companies have also submitted their units for testing for the challenge, all of which have results expected back later this year. Whether any of them will manage to beat the H-80 is not yet known.
Benefits Of Home Wind Power
August 28, 2009 by David Glen
More homeowners are wanting to go green to protect the environment, and are looking for more ways to create energy efficient homes. Making an alternative energy decision can be a wise move for home owners for multiple reasons. Improvements, such as a wind powered generator, help since this helps with electricity costs and aids our environment. With the new advances in energy as a renewable resource, it is easier than ever for homeowners to build and install their own wind – powered generator.
Why would you want to consider wind source energy for your home? There are multiple advantages with a wind-powered generator in addition to powering the lights in a home. First, it is a natural replenished source of energy. This means that it’s renewable, and it is good for the environment. It will create less gasses in the greenhouse than comparable conventional source. As an added bonus, the potential wind power produced equals at least five times the total energy consumption of the planet right now.
Wind powered generators are also cost efficient. After the initial cost of building and installing the unity, the maintenance is almost free. The cost of operation is nearly nothing, making it a top reason people choose wind powered energy. Homes with wind energy have very few costs, subsequently making the energy produced by the wind nearly free for the home. That is one of the reasons it is such a good addition to your home’s power system.
Normally, wind power cannot be applied as the only source of electricity because wind patterns can be unstable and unpredictable. But this is a minor concern, since a wind turbine owner probably has a power grid connection anyway.
There is nothing to fret about the ever-increasing electric bill which is likely to cost people a fortune. Somehow, there will never be a shortage of wind power sources so wind turbine owners can save a lot.
Owners of residential turbine systems will feel freedom from the high price of local utility companies. Particularly for those in windy areas, they should consider a wind powered source on the roofs or towers. The savings may surprise them. Smaller wind turbines (especially the smaller units) have very few moving parts. The lack of regular maintenance keeps cost down, and they are made to last several years before any servicing.
While getting a wind power source is very cost effective, it’s also a guarantee that domestic power will not go out since the transformer for the wind generator will help hoard power for later usage. As long as home owners are not using too much electric power, that is.
What’s more, there is never a need to worry about when the next big storm comes raging through while cutting electric lines on the neighboring streets. Adding a wind generator to one’s residential wind power system is also a great way to cut energy bills and a thrust towards a more environmentally-conscious living.
Make Your Own Solar Power
August 27, 2009 by Lance Jensen
Solar energy from the sun is the most abundant source of energy on the planet. The sun provides heat, light, and life to every human on Earth. We can now use our sun to make solar power for everyday use.
What makes solar power so much better?
Why is solar energy becoming the most popular choice of the alternative energy solutions on the market today?
Solar energy is green. This means that you can make power for your home without using any other type of fuel. Even more important, you do not release any harmful gases or substances into the atmosphere when you make solar power at home.
Solar power is a really cheap solution that can benefit both the poor and the rich in any country around the world. There is a one-time parts and installation cost. If you have a professional company install your solar panels, it will take 12 to 15 years to recover your initial installation costs. But if you build your own solar power system and install it yourself, you can recover your initial costs within a year.
You can store solar power: The big power corporations do not allow you to store the power they send to your home but you can store your own power with solar. Even in the dark or during a complete black out in your area, your power will stay on because you stored your power during the day in what is called a battery bank.
Lower maintenance costs. Solar power systems are very easy to maintain. A solar power system involves minimal effort to maintain letting you relax and enjoy your solar power.
How can we start using solar power? Solar energy can be used in our everyday lives by using the following solar power systems:
Solar oven cooking: Did you know you can cook without using a fire or electricity? You can! The device is called a solar oven. You can roast, boil, or bake with a solar oven. The only downside is that it does take a little longer to heat up but you will have the satisfaction of knowing that you cooked a meal without paying your gas or electricity company a penny!
Solar lighting: You can use all the lights in your house and all your electrical appliances without having to worry about your energy bill. You can use this power even at night thanks to having a battery bank to store the energy from your solar panels.
Solar heating: You can warm your home during the winter with a solar heater and not have to worry about high heating costs.
Tips For Maintaining Your Seasonal Home Appliances

These days, home appliances are a huge part of our every day lives. They make every day jobs easier and general day to day life simpler. Because these appliances are used everyday, they need regular maintenance to ensure that they keep working. Although most people are aware that their appliances need maintaining, some can be forgotten due to the amount of use it gets.
Home appliances such as air conditioners, which are only used during the summer months, and a electric patio heater, which only come in use during the cold wet days, these are the appliances that are worst affected by lack of maintenance. I’ll use air conditioners as an example for this post. Air con units are a vital appliances when summer starts, without them the heat can be unbearable, however, they are forgotten when it comes to the winter months. However, when it comes around to summer again and you require some cooling, your air con unit might not work due to lack of maintenance.
Even if your air conditioning unit hasn’t broken down yet without being maintained, it’s most likely costing you more to run. If your air conditioner is poor maintained and has dirty/broken parts, it will make it’s job of cooling the room longer, costing you more money to run.
Air conditioning units are mainly affected by dirt and dust within the air. If your air conditioning unit becomes dirty, it will use up more energy because it cannot function at it’s best. The filter within air con units is the worst affected piece of the unit that’s affected when it’s dirty. By making sure you replace an old, dirty filter, you can save some money on running costs, reduce the effect the unit has on the environment, plus keep your air cool and clean.
A filter is a vital part of the air con unit, it cleans a large amount of dust, bacteria and pollen from the air. If the filter your air con unit is using isn’t clean, it won’t be able to clean the air as well as it could do with a clean filter. The unit will also end up using more electricity to try and clean your room’s air.
Spending time maintaining your air conditioner is just as important as keeping your dish washer dirt free. To ensure you keep a clean filter, you should check the status of it about once every 4 weeks. Remember that these tips don’t just apply to big air con units, they also apply to a portable air conditioners units.
The Nigerian Oil Trade

The U.S. people buy 500,000 barrels of oil a day from Nigeria. Nigeria is the 6th largest supplier of oil to the U.S.
Oil companies in the U.S. promised that the flow of money into Nigeria was going to make life a lot better for the people.
This was an outright lie to the Nigerian people so that oil companies could profit. What most Americans are kept in the dark about is how their consumption of oil is killing the people of Nigeria.
The oil trade has been killing Nigerians for years now. In the meantime, the oil companies have no remorse, in fact, they are buying the votes in Congress to delay or slow solar power development and our independence from oil once and for all.
The video you are about to see shows how the oil trade in Nigeria has enriched politicians both in the U.S. and Nigeria, as well as the big oil companies, while bringing suffering to ordinary people.
Nigerians are killing each other for who should have the right to sell oil to America. The Nigerian government is demolishing average Nigerian homes and churches to make room for luxury housing for rich oil executives and their American workers.
A pastor is powerless as his church is demolished because of the oil trade. He says, “The oil boom has become the oil doom.”
A terrified woman who has had her home destroyed in the name of oil grabs her children and cries, “I need help!”
Bible thumping Republicans who think that business is good and government is bad need to pull their heads out of the sand and watch this video and educate themselves about the evil oil trade with Nigeria in the name of business.
The goal of business is to increase profits. If people need to lose their homes, then so be it. What is important is to increase profits. In some aspects, the big Health Insurance companies in the U.S. are a good lesson of what happens with the unchecked pursuit of profit. How many people in America, like people in Nigeria, have been killed in the pursuit of profit? How many Americans have died because their coverage was denied? How many people who work in fast food or the restaurant business work without health insurance of any kind? How many hard working adults who play by all the rules are doomed to poverty because they are being charged $800, even a $1,000 or more a month for health insurance for a relatively healthy family of three?
Welcome to Corporate America after 8 years of Republicanism. Quanta, in their debut album, said it best: This is America Corporate America The place where only the rich count This is America Yeah America Why do they get to be paramount?
Using Wind Power At Home Is Easy

With population growth and the constant doubling of demand for energy, we must take action to save power for as power becomes scarce, its price increases as we are now seeing. Now it is possible for an individual to produce their own energy that is pollution free. Solar power and wind power are the two leading do it yourself energy solutions that can be used to replace conventional energy sources.
Home wind power and solar power not only are a superior source of energy during a black out, but they help save the earth while reducing your monthly power bill at the same time.
This article explores the cost-effective wind power solution that you can employ at home.
You need to have an open area if you really want to save a lot of money off your power bill with a wind generator. Having an acre or more is the ideal setting.
You do not need a lot of wind, but you do need some. If you live in an area that has an average wind speed of less than 11 miles per hour, then you probably do not want to build a wind power generator.
Having an uninterrupted supply of energy is wonderful. When you produce your own electricity from wind power and solar power, power outages are a thing of the past.
The height of your wind turbine depends on where you live. If you get little wind, you will need to have a higher wind turbine. If you live near the ocean or in a windy area, you can have a shorter wind turbine. A wind power generator has a tower and five blades that rotate around a spinning shaft. Wind strikes the blades and turns the shaft which generates electricity. You then connect your wind turbine to a battery bank so that you can build up and store the electricity generated from your wind power generator for later use.
If you are new to wind power generation, then you might be confused by different people using the words wind power generator, wind mill, wind turbine, and wind generator. All of these terms mean the same thing and are referring to the same machine.
Solar Power Reviews: The Procedure Of Geographic Reasons In Solar Power Kits

Man a product of the earth’s surface.Man is a product of the earth’s surface. This means not only that he is a child of the earth, dust of her dust; but that the earth has mothered him, fed him, set him tasks, directed his thoughts, confronted him with difficulties that have strengthened his body and sharpened his wits, given him his problems of navigation or irrigation, and at the same time whispered hints for their solution.
She has entered into his bone and tissue, into his act upon and soul. On the mountains she has given him leg muscles of iron to climb the slope; along the coast she has left these frail and flabby, however given him instead strong progression of chest and arm to handle his paddle or oar. In the river valley she attaches him to the fertile soil, circumscribes his thoughts and ambitions by a take the edge off round of calm, exacting duties, narrows his outlook to the cramped horizon of his farm.
Up on the wind-swept plateaus, in the boundless stretch of the grasslands and the waterless tracts of the desert, where he roams with his flocks from pasture to pasture and oasis to oasis, where life knows much hardship but escapes the grind of drudgery, where the watching of grazing herd gives him leisure for contemplation solar power reviews, and the wide-ranging life a big horizon, his thoughts bring on a a number of gigantic simplicity; religion becomes monotheism, God becomes one, unrivalled akin to the sand of the desert and the grass of the steppe, stretching on and on without break or change. Chewing over and over the cud of his simple belief as the one food of his unfed mind, his faith becomes fanaticism; his big spacial ideas, born of that ceaseless common wandering, outgrow the land that bred them and bring their legitimate fruit in wide imperial conquests.
Man can no more be scientifically studied apart from the ground which he tills, or the lands over which he travels, or the seas over which he trades, than polar bear or desert cactus can be understood apart from its habitat. Man’s relations to his environment are infinitely more countless and grueling than persons of the most highly organized plant or animal. So complex are they that they constitute a legitimate and necessary object of special study.
The investigation which they receive in anthropology, ethnology, sociology and history is piecemeal and partial, limited when to the race, cultural development, epoch, country or variety of geographic conditions taken into account. Hence all these sciences, together with history so far while history undertakes to justify the brings of events, fail to accomplish a satisfactory solution of their problems largely in view of the fact that the geographic factor concentrated solar power which enters into them the entire has not been thoroughly analyzed.
Man has been so noisy on the subject of the concept he has “conquered Nature,” and Nature has been so silent in her persistent affect over man, that the geographic factor in the equation of human procedure has been overlooked.
Stability of geographic factors in history. In the entire difficulty of history there are two core factors, variously stated whilst heredity and environment, man and his geographic conditions, the internal forces of race and the external forces of habitat.
These days the geographic part in the lengthy history of human process has been operating strongly and operating persistently. Herein lies its importance. It is a stable force. It never sleeps. This natural environment, this physical reason of history, is for every one of intents and purposes immutable in comparison with the other factor in the problem—shifting, plastic, progressive, retrogressive man.

A DIY Solar Panel System That Breaks Dependency On Oil
August 25, 2009 by Lance Jensen

Has an ordinary man solved the energy crisis by using trash to create a DIY solar system?
An ordinary citizen, albeit brilliant, has solved the energy crisis and our dependency on oil. He has created a 6 kwh solar system one can make at home for under $5,500. If a 6 kwh system was build with PV panels, it would cost about $80,000 to install.
Now keep in mind that the powers that be in America want you to think that after 10 years of research and hundreds of millions of dollars spent, they still cant come up with such a system. Yeah right. Exxon, Chevron, GE, and the U.S. Department of Energy dont like these kinds of DIY solar power systems because they cant make money off it. The big oil companies want a solution that involves keeping you as a paying customer. The government wants a system they can tax. Both only want a solar solution that enriches them at your expense.
Big oil and their lobbyists that buy Congressmen will not let a DIY homemade solution reach mainstream America. They will not and can not allow you to create your own electricity completely free.
But this is only the beginning of the levels of evil big oil is willing to do to in the name of profits. Nigerian people are being killed over oil. Oil executives are telling the Nigerian government what neighborhoods to bulldoze so that they can build luxury housing for oil executives and American workers. Entire neighborhoods are being destroyed. Churches are being destroyed.
In Burma, it is just as bad. The United Nations Security Council has condemned the treatment of civilians by the Burmese military junta. At the request of big oil, namely Chevron, the Burmese military has enslaved villagers along the path of construction of a pipeline. Here are the words of a Burmese citizen, “Before the pipeline came, there were no problems with soldiers. No soldiers were even in the area. One day, while we were planting rice, the soldiers came. When the pipeline reached us, we were forced to work for the white people. The soldiers forced us to be slaves. If we did not work for the white people, they said they would kill us. Because of the white people, our village was destroyed and we had to run into the jungle. They shot at my husband while he ran away. I waited for him to return. I had my children with me. A soldier came up to me and hit me with his gun. I fell and hit my head on a stone and lost consciousness. When I woke up, I saw my baby burned alive in the fire. She did not cry. Her body was burned and all black.”
Now keep in mind that an average, ordinary American, albeit very intelligent, created an affordable DIY solar power system. The U.S. Department of Energy has been giving big oil companies like Chevron millions of dollars each year of tax payers money to create an alternative energy solution to break us from our dependency on oil. It sounds like big oil has been running a tax payers scam using the U.S. Department of Energy as the vehicle. During the Bush Administration and Republican control, the Department of Energy was staffed with pro big oil corporate executives and lobbyists. They have come up with very little and yet here is an ordinary citizen without any kind of multi-million dollar tax payer funded research budget, and he has created an affordable solar energy solution.
The video is below so that you can watch it and decide on the merits of this point for yourself.
Is Bottled Water Endangering Our Environment? You Won’t Believe Just How Much It Really Is!

In the midst of the Resulting pollution on Our Earth, is the World Better off Consuming Tap Water?
Think you’re doing yourself a favor by consuming bottled water? Despite the fact that you may possibly think you are doing your body good, are you recycling that container? If not, the ecological effect can be disastrous. Each of us can add to cleaning up the litter in this world by drinking tap water. (Learn how to make tap water not just safe to drink but extremely healthy for you also, by clicking on this link: Healthy Drinking Water of Life).
It’s not just the Planet that suffers when you consume bottled water; often times it can be you. Most bottled water comes in polyethylene terephthalate bottles, indicated by a number 1, PET or PETE on the underside of the bottle. Despite the fact that they may seem harmless enough some scientists are now stating that if exposed to the heat for extended periods of time that the consequence can be a leakage of chemicals into the water. These chemicals can lead to a different chemical makeup of the water and thus lead to a alteration in smell as well as taste. What’s worse is the fact that you are now ingesting the chemicals that are absorbed by the water and exposing your body to chemical pollution. While the effects of this pollution are not yet known, scientists are working on testing the effects of such long-term exposure to these chemicals. All of a sudden tap water is sounding not bad huh?
In an even more scary happening, experts have recently warned about a few specific chemicals in general. Antimony is one and is a potentially poisonous material used in making PET. Scientists in Germany have established that the more bottled water sits around, the more antimony it produces. This is troubling as there is in reality no telling how long that bottled water you just purchased had been sitting on the shelf at the store or even in the storeroom proir to it hitting the shelf for that matter. High concentrations of antimony will trigger nausea, vomiting and diarrhea.
In another shocking development, a National Institutes of Health (NIH) committee agreed that bisphenol A (BPA), a chemical found in polycarbonate (used to create water cooler jugs, sport-water bottles and other hard plastics, but not PET), may cause neurological and behavioral problems in fetuses, babies and kids. This is a troubling discovery, and it doesn’t stop with kids. In a separate study a NIH-sponsored panel discovered that the danger was even worse than projected. Their results said that adult exposure to BPA probably affects the brain, the female reproductive system and the immune system. I thought bottled water was supposed to be good for you?
While the effects to us are a staggering concept, let us not disregard what the ecological impact to our Mother Earth can be also. The pollution produced by those which do not carry out a healthy recycling procedure can be extraordinarily high.
While we as a world work to lessen our dependence on fossil fuels, producing bottled water is actually increasing it. The bottles themselves are made of a substance that is precisely connected to fossil fuels. In many cases the bottled water that we drink is packaged in other countries that can be thousands of miles away. The shipping alone leads to even more fossil fuels being burned consequently creating more pollution. Though the intent with bottled water is good (at least for us), the environmental impact that we are creating is anything but good.
If we took the energy it takes to make up all the bottled water in the United States for one year to keep up with demand, we would accumulate ourselves the equal of 17 million barrels of oil. This is sufficient to fuel one million cars for a full year.
There is as well the actual waste of water that goes on also and that is not a reference to the water going down the drain if you are running your tap water. It takes about 72 billion gallons of water per year, just to make the unfilled bottles which the bottled water ends up in, according to the Institute for Water and Watersheds at Oregon State University. Additional waste is seen as it is projected that it takes two liters of water to create every one-liter of bottled water which are arranged on the store shelves.
But perhaps the most disturbing fact of all is the amount of bottles that are actually recycled. Recycling is a relatively easy thing to do, in spite of that it is estimated that only around 20 percent of the empty bottles make it to the recycling plants here in the United States. This means that 80 percent of the empty bottles are left to create pollution within our landfills for many years to come. Keep in mind, that bottle of water that took you three minutes to consume can take ten thousand years to biodegrade. Can you imagine the negative environmental impact?
It’s not rocket science. Drinking bottled water is not the safe bet you may have thought it to be and when it comes to the wellbeing of the Earth it is worse than tap water. With all kinds of people NOT participating in recycling these days, the pollution of the Earth is rising at a pace that can’t be sustained for much longer. If it continues, we will be leaving our children and our grandchildren among one hideous ecological impact to have to deal with.

Further Information For Renewable Energy Sources

Alternative energy sources are playing an important role in preserving the life of the people and the environment in general. This is evident because they do not release carbon-based warming and dangerous substances into the atmosphere. It also minimizes the financial expenses of the people by not paying the monthly bills for the energy use. The renewable energy sources are more sustainable because they can be used repeatedly without running out the power supply.
The Residential Solar Power is frequently used as the most viable alternative energy source for the individuals today. It is a very good source of energy that definitely saves you from the monthly electric bills for your home energy consumption. Prices of energy use these days are out of peoples control, thus, people must resort to using the renewable source of energy to lessen your financial obligation at home.
The installation of residential solar panels is the most viable solution to replace the usual energy source that people are using. As soon as they are installed, there will be no monthly monetary obligation anymore, which means that you will save a lot of your money. Theoretically, solar panels have quite long life span. They can actually be set up almost in all places because they appear in different shapes and sizes. You may ask for technical help from those who know how to make solar power.
Solar energy serves as the most practical answer to the uncontrollable rising of energy prices these days. Other available renewable energy sources have been utilized as well in order to lessen the financial expenses of the people. Solar generators are needed in order to produce the solar energy. The solar panels are useful in absorbing the sunlight which you then convert to electrical energy with the aid of the generators. These generators are then hooked up into your home and finally the electrical energy is transferred there.
It would be much more effective if your place is located some place where there is ample of sunlight. A wide space area would be more advantageous so that more solar energy will be generated. But, you need to secure permission first from the local government if you will be allowed to turn your home into a residential solar energy. If you want to get rid of the monthly financial expenses, then you better take the move of using the alternative source of energy.
The residential solar power is the best solution to get away from the financial burden nowadays. It is not only favourable to the people, but also to the environment because it does not contribute to anything that harms the atmosphere and the Earth in general. To resolve the energy crisis nowadays, people should turn into using the renewable source of energy like the solar energy. It is for the benefit of the people and the surroundings.
Home Solar Industry In Australia Gets Big Boost
August 22, 2009 by Sam Stoker
Why is not a home solar incentive this good being done in the United States? I think we know why. The Republicans and their big oil special interest groups and lobbyists that are blocking this type of legislation. The United States invented solar panels and yet we continue to fall further and further behind.
Big news for the home solar industry in Australia.
The Senate in Australia passed the Renewable Energy Target (RET) bill which gives $7,000 to anyone who installs at least a 9 panel (1.5kW) solar energy system.
Originally, there were two components to this bill: the RET and the ETS (Emissions Trading). There was lots of fighting over the ETS component and so law makers split the RET and the ETS components into two separate bills so that they could pass the RET portion while they continue to fight over the ETS.
The home solar discount of $7,000 is for grid connected homes and buildings only. The home can be a rental home, a principal place of residence, a vacation home or a commercial building. The rebate threshold in earlier bills of a household taxable income of $100,000 has been removed.
The home solar credits scheme is ingenious in that it assigns a value of 500% the market value of what are know as RECs or Renewable Energy Certificates.
RECs or Renewable Energy Certificates were introduced in Australia at the end of 2001. Renewable Energy Certificates are what places a measurable value on the displacement of greenhouse gases. A single Renewable Energy Certificate is the equivalent of 1 mega Watt hour of electricity produced. This, in turn, is equal to about one ton of prevented greenhouse emissions. Renewable Energy Certificates provide a financial incentive to burn less fossil fuel.
It depends on where you live and how many hours of sunshine you receive on an annual basis but there are about 33 RECs (Renewable Energy Certificates) given for a 1.5 kW solar energy install. The value of a REC is subject to market variation but they are currently trading around $37. This translates into 33 x $37 = $1,221. You now multiply this by 500%, which is the amount set in this new home solar credit, $1,221 x 500% = $6,105.
The first 1.5kW of solar panels installed get the discount. For higher output solar panel installs, the usually 1:1 rate of Renewable Energy Certificates applies. The ORER (Office Of Renewable Energy Regulator) will issue the discounts. People having solar panels installed can decide if they want to use the Renewable Energy Certificates to pay the solar power installer in order to lower upfront costs, or they can hold on to their certificates like a stock with the idea of selling it in the future when they increase in value.
This could be done in the United States if it were not for big oil and big energy corporations paying off congressmen to block and delay development in the solar power industry.
